
Dr. Ralstin is originally from the West Coast and earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley, where she competed as a Division I track and field athlete. During her collegiate athletic career, she sustained a significant injury that taught her the importance of foot health in living an active and fulfilling life. This personal experience inspired her passion for helping others overcome injuries and regain their independence.
Dr. Ralstin earned her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the California School of Podiatric Medicine in Oakland, California. During her time there, she developed a strong focus on sports medicine, actively participating in sports medicine research and gaining expertise in diagnosing and treating injuries affecting athletes and active individuals.
Following medical school, Dr. Ralstin completed a rigorous three-year surgical residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, a Level I Trauma Center. Her residency provided extensive training in reconstructive forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle surgery. She also collaborated closely with the Department of Plastic Surgery at JPS Hospital, further enhancing her skills in advanced wound care and reconstructive techniques.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Ralstin is passionate about education. As an AO North America faculty educator, she enjoys mentoring and teaching the next generation of surgeons, sharing her expertise in trauma and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Ralstin is committed to helping her patients maintain or restore mobility, whether it’s returning to competitive sports or simply enjoying an active lifestyle. Outside of work, she enjoys running, spending time with her husband and two golden retrievers, and exploring local coffee shops in the Dallas area.
